Robotics, Electronics & Programming

Treetop Academics is happy to continue our multi-disciplinary class in robotics, programming, electronics, and computer science! This class will introduce the fundamentals in circuitry, electronics, programming, and integrating these concepts with Robotics and hands-on applications.

Art & Creativity

In this Art class, students will create their own art projects, study the artwork of others, and be encouraged to share their ideas about Art. Students will learn about artists from other time-periods/cultures, including modern and contemporary, with some weekly lessons drawn from their work. 

World Languages

This year, Treetop is working in partnership with the Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS) at the UO to deliver after-school language classes exclusively for our Edison students.

Edison Publishing

Treetop Academics’ Edison Publishing class is home to the Edison student-run newspaper, The Edison Examiner. Edison students report, write, and contribute to the Examiner in our after- school publishing class. The Edison Examiner is a Treetop Academics publication published for the benefit of the Edison community. 2022/2023 school year will be the 6th year of the Examiner.

Science

Treetop’s Science class is project-based and hands-on with opportunities for students to explore, theorize, and apply the principles using the scientific method. Weekly projects will draw from many branches of science including chemistry, physics, biology, astronomy, anatomy, etc.

Mini Maker-Space

Our Maker-Space class is an open-ended platform for students to create, design, and build their own ideas in a guided and inclusive environment. Students can intersect Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Writing or any other subject to help accomplish their own creative ideas, which may include a continuation of their Robotics projects or something completely new and unrelated!

No-School Day Camps 2023/24!

Treetop Academics is pleased to offer an expanded calendar of ten no-school day camp opportunities for students! Attendees will get a crash-course opportunity to work in groups solving challenges using computer science, programming, robotics, electronics, engineering, math, and technology. The Edison Hackathon is an exploratory time for students in a fun directed environment perfect for a useful and educational no-school day.
